What are cookies?

Our eShop uses cookies. A cookie is a small file that is stored on your computer by a website you visit. In some browsers, each cookie is a separate small file, but in some other browsers, all cookies are stored in a single file. The file is usually stored in the user profile of the browser.

What are cookies used for?

Cookies store information such as your preferred language or other personal page settings. When you visit the site again later, the browser returns the stored cookie information to the page. This allows individual and customized information to be displayed.

Cookies can contain a variety of information that makes the visitor personally identifiable. However, a website only has access to personal data, which you also provide. For example, a page cannot determine your e-mail address without your intervention. A web site cannot access other files on your computer.

If you use the default settings for cookies in your browser, these activities usually go unnoticed for you. You do not usually find out when a page is storing a cookie or when your browser submits cookie information to a website. However, the browser can usually be configured to ask for permission before saving a cookie. You can also limit the lifetime of cookies to your current browser session.
